OPC project report on Android Application Transparency posted

The report for our collaborative project with Lisa Austin on privacy in Android applications, funded by the Office of the Privacy Comissioner of Canada has been posted on SSRN.  In the report, we document our findings that over 50% of Android applications don’t adhere to their stated privacy policy and that in 80% of the cases, the lack of transparency about the information collected by advertising, analytics and other 3rd party libraries is the reason behind the failure to adhere to the privacy policy.  You can read the full report here.
