2 TossLab papers at NDSS 2025 next week!

Xiangyu will be presenting his work on EvoCrawl: Exploring Web Application Code and State using Evolutionary Search, which leverages evolutionary search to efficiently explore web applications, overcoming limitations of traditional methods. By addressing ordering and formatting constraints, EvoCrawl achieves a 59% increase in code coverage and submits HTML forms five times more frequently. This innovative tool has discovered eight zero-day vulnerabilities in popular platforms, highlighting its effectiveness in enhancing web application security.

Shawn will present  Duumviri: Detecting Trackers and Mixed Trackers with a Breakage Detector, a novel tool for detecting web trackers and mixed trackers using a machine learning-based breakage detector. Duumviri employs differential features to distinguish between tracking and functional components, achieving 97.44% accuracy in replicating human-generated filter lists and identifying 22 new trackers. It also detects mixed trackers with 74.19% accuracy, uncovering 26 unique mixed trackers. This approach enhances privacy protection by minimizing web page breakage while effectively blocking trackers.

Both of these will appear at NDSS 2025. Congratulations to them both on their fantastic work!
